BIND 4.0 is a public–private open innovation and acceleration platform based in the Basque Country, launched in 2016 to connect Industry 4.0 startups with leading industrial companies through paid pilot projects. Focused on sectors such as advanced manufacturing, energy, health tech, and food tech, it supports startups offering solutions in AI, IoT, robotics, and other emerging technologies. The program provides startups with access to funding, mentorship, and market opportunities without taking equity, while corporate partners benefit from early access to disruptive technologies through a venture client model. With over 195 startups accelerated and more than 290 projects launched, BIND 4.0 has become a key driver of industrial innovation and digital transformation in Europe.
Lab3040 is a strategic initiative promoted by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), designed to connect corporations, SMEs, universities, technology centers and administrations within the Catalan innovation ecosystem. With the support of entities such as Celsa, Ibercaja, Leitat, Naturgy, Sorigué and TMB, it seeks to promote intersectorial collaboration to position Barcelona as a European innovation hub.
The Open Innovation Challenge, promoted by ACCIÓ (Catalonia Trade & Investment), is an open innovation service that connects companies and public institutions with startups and technology providers during major international events such as Mobile World Congress, Integrated Systems Europe, Smart City Expo, Advanced Factories, or Alimentaria. Through this initiative, organizers publish specific technological challenges, startups and tech firms submit their solutions, and ACCIÓ facilitates customized B2B meeting agendas—either in person or online—while also providing continuous support throughout the process
